This increase families values the unity in creating the stitch in each thread on the clothes. Instead the families make their own clothes giving meaning and purpose. This allows the residents to not worry about the type or quality of the clothes to takes away from unnecessary valued. This society allows everyone to be unified in clothes. This keeps the community not focused on materialistic ideas or perception. They are characterize by gender and status suitable for all weather conditions. Everyone is expected to wear the same clothing. I enjoy the notation the community is very family-oriented. The Utopia presented in this text in I can definitely live in. This text gave me a warm, family reaction. I really enjoy reading this utopian literature Utopia by Thomas More. Many may find this society to be stable and right but I personally dislike this kind of living standards and environment.Īuthor Rizwan Bhatti Posted on SeptemCategories Utopia (Thomas More) Leave a comment on Thomas More Utopia Utopia The women have their basic human rights violated when they must get naked in front of a man to see if he accepts her. However the cons are neck to neck in this society. This society has its pros such as respect for the elderly and sick, everyone playing an important role, working hard and loving one another. Before two get married, the man sees the woman naked and decides if he wants her or not which to me is very barbaric. If two are caught committing adultery they are severely punished. They cannot engage in sex with who they want. Men and women are not sexually free in this society. They too however are forced to do hard labor sometimes even more than the imprisoned slaves. They treat these slaves better and these slaves can leave if they want but chose not to. Other slaves are people who come from different societies. The slaves are always chained and are judged based on how hard they work in labor. People who have committed crimes become slaves and must obey their owners. Just like every other Utopia this society comes with its cons. It seems as if they have everything they need. The people of this society do not care about money, gold, silver or riches. It is their job to make sure the family is doing well and committing to their role. The head of the household comes with great responsibility. Children respect their parents and the head of the household is a man. They care for the elderly and treat the sick. The people treat each other with respect and love. Everyone in the society has a role and is encouraged to learn more. In “Excerpt from Thomas More’s Utopia”, a very unique society is portrayed.
